I love sports and in sports there is a mythical force called “Big Mo”, “Mo” is short for momentum. Mo, can be very unforgiving and has commitment issues but can also be incredibly generous and exciting. Mo has been known to swing both ways from one team to the next effortlessly, and seemingly on a whim and in the same game or match. More times than not these swings are the result of extra effort or hustle plays by the team without Mo on their side in an effort to court Mo’s affection. They dig deep and put forth enormous effort to gain the momentum in the game.

Rolling with “Big Mo”, are you In?

New Year, New Possibilities
I will go into this new year knowing that humans are creatures of habit and these habits have been forged over weeks, months and years. I also know it’s a bit foolish to think that all those past proclivities or faults that I harbor, have developed or indulged in 2011 can be suddenly washed away when the clock strikes 12, and a new year begins. The realist in me staunchly states “I am who I am and if you don’t like me or what I do then that’s a you problem”. This feels somehow wrong and trite. My inner optimist snaps back with a single phrase; New Year, New Possibilities. That single phrase is reassuring and frightening, but alas forward we march.
I did not make any resolutions this year, siting my abysmal track record of not accomplishing them, but I did set out some objectives. Objectives you asked? Take note of the definition.
From the Marriam-Webster dictionary, objective 2 a : something toward which effort is directed : an aim, goal, or end of action.

From Spectator to Participator: A life in motion
A body at rest tends to remain at rest and a body in motion will remain in motion unless acted on by another force paraphrase from Newton’s Laws of Motion.
In the post We Are All In Sales Really we talk about how if you don’t have what you want you are not selling enough. I would like to add that not only are you note selling enough but that you are selling yourself short. Below are some tips that I have picked up and hopefully we can use them together to help us move from spectators to participators in every facet of our lives. Hey, I am still in motion so saying ‘you’ instead of us in the sentence before did not seem appropriate.
